![]() However, the singing was top notch and the story was as enjoyable and lovable as ever. The acting was slightly disappointing and pretty mediocre with the exception of the actors playing Jafar and Iago who were the most entertaining. The special effects and staging were great too, given that they were created several years ago. The show itself was very enjoyable - I've seen several other Disney stage productions and this was definitely one of the better ones. We were sat in the balcony, row C, and had a very good view of the stage. Getting in was very quick and efficient and finding the seats very easy. I went to see this musical during a city break with my family me and my mum went along. NOT an experience until you get orchestra seats Only one older lady was a bit considerate. The staff is so entitled and obnoxious that they need a lesson in manners. Inside the theatre they will make you go right across in tiny spaces with no foot lighting to illuminate the way and I don’t recommend this at all. Even while departing she was muttering and saying rude words. After paying so much dollars for a show who wants to be treated like this. I can understand rules but there has to be a level of practicality. She wanted us to throw all our food which we had taken for the baby. The black staff lady at the entrance made our entry and experience miserable as we are tourists and with a baby and hence carrying shopping and food for baby back for the hotel. It’s actually dangerously close that you may fall over each other. ![]() you can’t see anything, chairs are atrocious, no space and for that price why they can’t make a proper theatre. The performance and experience is brilliant but you can only see it clearly in all its brilliance if you are sitting in the orchestra seats very close to the stage. This is the only show which allows kids younger than 5 but will charge full price for them. ![]() Overall we were both left speechless at how good the show was and it was a perfect way to finish off a busy Sunday. My favourite bit, aside from everything Genie was the magic carpet number where i genuinely didn't know how they elevated that with no strings it was really breathtaking to watch. We were sat at the front row of the balcony which although was a bit of a squeeze was a really good position to be sitting in to be able to see the whole stage production. I do think the Genie was in a league of his own, with the side jokes and gags, his singing and witty humor- he was really on point and so mesmerizing to watch. The characters all did a fantastic job -singing, dancing and putting on a spectacular performance. We were really impressed with all the special effects, optical illusions and the stage design. ![]() I am a massive fan of the films and knew that this would be the perfect choice of show to see on my birthday trip to the big apple with my hubby. © 2023 NYP Holdings, Inc.This was my first visit to NYC and my first ever Broadway show and it did not disappoint. “We will continue to provide support to the affected ‘Aladdin’ company members as they recover,” the statement concluded.
